How does Gatekeep work?+
You pick an AI investor persona — a calibrated simulation of a real VC or angel — and pitch them in a timed 30-minute conversation. The AI evaluates you across 12 dimensions and generates a detailed report with scores, feedback, and an action plan. If you pass, you can opt to send your report to the real investor behind the persona.
Who are the AI investor personas based on?+
Personas are based on real investors and funds — some are claimed and calibrated by the actual VC, others are AI simulations based on publicly available investment thesis data. Claimed personas are marked with a green badge and reflect the real investor's actual criteria. For unclaimed personas, the header warns that the report cannot be sent to the real fund.
Is it free to pitch?+
You get 2 free pitches to start, plus 1 free pitch every day. After that, retries are $3 and new investor pitches are $5. Founders who pitch frequently can upgrade to unlimited for $20/month. VCs and angels can claim their persona and receive inbound pitches for free.
What happens after I complete a pitch?+
You get a full report with your verdict (Pass / Conditional / Fail), a score out of 10, a 12-dimension breakdown, specific feedback on what went well and what needs improvement, a SWOT analysis, and a 7/30/90-day action plan. If you passed, you can opt to surface your report to the real VC behind the persona.
Do I need a warm intro to pitch on Gatekeep?+

Can investors see who I am before I decide to surface?+
No. Your pitch is anonymous until you choose to surface your report to a specific VC. VCs only see anonymized founder profiles in the marketplace unless a founder opts in to share their full report.
How do investors claim their persona?+
VCs and angels sign up, calibrate their persona with their actual thesis, red flags, and signature questions, and claim their profile. Once claimed, their badge turns green and founders who pass can surface reports directly to them. Claiming is free and takes about 10 minutes.
What kind of feedback do I get?+
The report breaks down your pitch into 12 scored dimensions across six areas: Team, Market, Product, Traction, Business, and Pitch Quality. Each dimension has a specific rationale tied to what you actually said. You also get a SWOT analysis, competitive context, and a prioritized action plan.
AI personas are built from public data. When investors claim their profiles, they calibrate the criteria themselves — the thesis, red flags, and scoring bar become theirs. Passing reports create real introductions to the actual VC.
